Strolling Magic

Many people don’t know one form of magic from another. That’s O.K. It’s not their fault. Most have a stereotype of what a magician is and does. Some think we are childish and are only entertainment for Children’s birthday Parties. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
I do limited Birthday parties in Boston and its surrounding suburbs.

I have one specialty which goes by many names. Strolling Magic, Walk Around Magic, Mix”n Mingle, Close Up Magic. If you know other names or something comes to minds send it to me www.joeferrantimagic.com.
The Strolling Magician does not perform a formal show. I mean you wouldn’t set up chairs and have your guests seated to watch a 45 minute show. ( Although you may be interested in a formal close up show.)
There are unlimited venues where you may utilize a Strolling Magician. These are listed on my services page.
In short The Magician makes his way through the event entertaining groups of people. It is not unusual to hear loud clapping, laughing and cheering. It truly is a good time for everyone involved. No doubt, you will have people approach you and tell you they have never seen a Magician as good as you in their life. ( A wise Magician advises, not to get a fat head!) It’s really quite simple. Most people have never experienced the talents of a professional Magician. If they do again, he will be their “New Best Magician ever.” That’s why you don’t have to order a new hat size.
More often than not, you will be everybody’s new best friend. I’m not sure what that says about my needs for having my ego stroked.
Make no mistake, whether it be Boston or Worcester, no one will put more heart into their Mingling show than Joe Ferranti.
It would be my pleasure to entertain your guests for any occasion. They will thank you. That is a guarantee.

Full Frontal Performance

June 6th, 2021…graduation and celebration for the Senior Class of Newburyport High School.
In May, I performed for the Billerica Memorial High School Graduating Class. Although, I was fully vaccinated, the students were not. Following safety protocols I performed with a mask as well as the graduating class. It was a great evening, enjoyed by all. We made the best of what we had, still not out of the pandemic.
Jump forward to June 6th, the entire graduating class on Newburyport High School has been vaccinated and we picked up where we left off prepandemic. No holds barred, Close Up Magic performed as it is meant to be performed, “Close Up and Personal.” The kids, 17 and 18 years old loved it. I mean kids compared to me, the young men and women are heading off to college at the end of the summer, and they’ll be attending classes in person. The graduates caught a “break” after the seemingly endless life with restrictions.
Of course, we will all go through many challenges as the return to “normal” is not going to happen overnight.
Good Luck to you all, it was a pleasure to meet and spend a few minutes entertaining you with magic.

Post Pandemic?

I see concert tickets on sale for December 2021 at the Boston Garden. Sporting events are running currently at limited capacity and expect to increase as we head towards summer. Other states are already open at full capacity…fingers crossed we all will continue to provide our services safely for our clients.

With concerts pending in the coming winter, I anticipate a busy Holiday season, filled with performances for past and future clients.

Weddings are resuming, as well as graduations and many other celebrations…I will do whatever it takes to ensure your safety as well as provide the Very Best in Magic entertainment.

Sincerely,                                                                                                                          Joe Ferranti

Back to Work…kinda.

It’s not exactly breaking news that the entertainment industry has predominantly come to a halt. I have no idea how those who rely 100% on their income providing entertainment are surviving.

I used to receive multiple inquiries for work each week…more than enough to keep me busy during my retirement years. A few months ago that stopped…nothing.

I recently received an inquiry for an event in Rhode Island with attendance of 60 people. The number bothered me, there is a pandemic going on. So, I felt it was not worth the risk.

We all have to weigh the risks we personally take with consideration to any risk we may expose to others. I do see my actions can have consequence to others…I do not live in a bubble. (Almost a bubble 🙁 )

There is no magic number, but I was presented the opportunity to perform for 15 adults in a “safe” environment. At the time of the event the state of Massachusetts was doing well. I believe the risk was extremely low, and the reward extremely high.

So now, I wait…avoiding the public. If absolutely necessary I may adventure out at off hours, with my mask. Properly worn and fitted.

Stay Well!
