Strolling Magic

Strolling Boston Magician

Many people don’t know one form of magic from another. That’s O.K. It’s not their fault. Most have a stereotype of what a magician is and does. Some think we are childish and are only entertainment for Children’s Birthday Parties. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
I do perform Birthday parties in Boston and its surrounding suburbs, but for adults.

I have one specialty which goes by many names. Strolling Magic, Walk Around Magic, Mix”n Mingle, Close Up Magic. If you know other names or something comes to mind send it to me

Birthday Magician Boston Ma.

The Strolling Magician does not perform a formal show. I mean you wouldn’t set up chairs and have your guests seated to watch a 45-minute show. ( Although you may be interested in a formal close-up show.)
There are unlimited venues where you may utilize a Strolling Magician. These are listed on my services page.
In short, The Magician makes his way through the event entertaining groups of people. It is not unusual to hear loud clapping, laughing, and cheering. It truly is a good time for everyone involved. No doubt, you will have people approach you and tell you they have never seen a Magician as good as you in their life. ( A wise Magician advises, not to get a fat head!) It’s really quite simple. Most people have never experienced the talents of a professional Magician. If they do again, he will be their “New Best Magician ever.” That’s why you don’t have to order a new hat size.

Comedy Magician Mass.

More often than not, you will be everybody’s new best friend. I’m not sure what that says about my needs for having my ego stroked.
Make no mistake, whether it be Boston or Worcester, no one will put more heart into their Mingling show than Joe Ferranti.
It would be my pleasure to entertain your guests for any occasion. They will thank you. That is a guarantee.

Close-Up Magic Vs. Stage Magic

Full Frontal Performance

June 6th, 2021…graduation and celebration for the Senior Class of Newburyport High School.
In May, I performed for the Billerica Memorial High School Graduating Class. Although, I was fully vaccinated, the students were not. Following safety protocols I performed with a mask as well as the graduating class. It was a great evening, enjoyed by all. We made the best of what we had, still not out of the pandemic.
Jump forward to June 6th, the entire graduating class on Newburyport High School has been vaccinated and we picked up where we left off prepandemic. No holds barred, Close Up Magic performed as it is meant to be performed, “Close Up and Personal.” The kids, 17 and 18 years old loved it. I mean kids compared to me, the young men and women are heading off to college at the end of the summer, and they’ll be attending classes in person. The graduates caught a “break” after the seemingly endless life with restrictions.
Of course, we will all go through many challenges as the return to “normal” is not going to happen overnight.
Good Luck to you all, it was a pleasure to meet and spend a few minutes entertaining you with magic.

Post Pandemic?

I see concert tickets on sale for December 2021 at the Boston Garden. Sporting events are running currently at limited capacity and expect to increase as we head towards summer. Other states are already open at full capacity…fingers crossed we all will continue to provide our services safely for our clients.

With concerts pending in the coming winter, I anticipate a busy Holiday season, filled with performances for past and future clients.

Weddings are resuming, as well as graduations and many other celebrations…I will do whatever it takes to ensure your safety as well as provide the Very Best in Magic entertainment.

Sincerely,                                                                                                                          Joe Ferranti

Are you looking for the Best Magician in Boston?

Or maybe, one of the best Magicians in Boston? My goodness, this is hype.

Hype: A fad. A clever marketing strategy which a product is advertised as the thing everyone must have, to the point where people begin to feel they need to consume it. Well, maybe not hype but definitely subjective. However, most everybody has it as an attribute in their advertising, and anyhow, some clients have actually said it to me. (But how do they know? They haven’t seen everybody.)

Honestly, every time I go out to “work” (play) somebody always says that, and many other accolades. But, we students of Magic have been warned not to believe your own press. As this can lead to a very Fat Head. As people we are all equal. I don’t want to be thought of as a snob. Somebody who spends his life thinking he’s better than everybody else.
Here’s the dilemma, people don’t make Google searches for second best Magicians, mediocre Magicians…
Wait, I know what it is. I’m the only me. Nobody else can bring you the exact value of entertainment that I can. There are some you may like more, and others…well, I can’t say it. My mother told me if I don’t have anything nice to say…you know the rest.

So here it goes, “If you want the absolute Best entertainment from the Best Boston Magician, I’m the only one who can show it to you from my perspective.”
Whoever you hire, I wish you a wonderful time.
Joe Ferranti The Top Boston Magicians

Birthday at the Great Wall in Bedford, Ma.

As we get older, many of us would like not to have any more Birthdays. (Ponce De Leon Syndrome!) A brave few embrace their advancing age and continue to celebrate their good fortune to have so many friends and relatives to celebrate with. One positive thinking individual not only embraced it but took care of the expenses as well. Very generous I think. Not only that, the birthday girl, having achieved the age of advanced wisdom, hired The Magic of Joe Ferranti for the entertainment. (Wise indeed!) Enough of the promo…shameful! For those who don’t know of The Great Wall, it is a very nice restaurant on Great Rd. in Bedford, featuring Chinese Cuisine. I’ve been a patron as well, and will go back. The party had guests, ages from three to eighty three. Those aged sixteen and up find mutual pleasure in the same material. The younger shout and applaud a little louder, but our elder crowds enjoy good Magical Entertainment just as well. So far my Birthday ages have been, forty, fifty, sixty, and seventy. I missed an eightieth, as they went with an impersonator instead. (It’s your Birthday…I’m never pushy. Hire the entertainment that suits you best.) IMHO, you can’t go wrong with Magic…if you hire the right Magician.

No Challenge Magic

It’s human nature to seek knowledge of how things work. It separates chaos from order. Even if we don’t truly understand we may convince ourselves into believing false theories. What has this got to do with Magic, especially close up magic, where “miracles” are performed inches from our eyes? Well step back to separating chaos and order. It is perfectly natural for a layman to speculate how a Magician performs his feats of dexterity. (or is it dexterity) However if you are to truly enjoy the entertainment, it is the Magicians job to end this as quickly as possible. When performing strolling magic, I open with some pretty strong magic. I do not personally challenge my new friends, (spectators) to seek solutions. That is not the game I want to play. Why? Because that’s not entertainment.
Allow me to be blunt and courteous. Since I know every show, whether it be walk around magic or a formal parlor show. I will open with something strong. I refer to it as a Maze. Knowing what your mind will be doing the magic performance will send you in maze where you will go in a direction to try and figure out the how. As in a Maze, you will hit a wall, so you go in a different direction, yeah this must be the way to understanding. Bang, another wall. Eventually you will realize that there is no way out of the maze. You might as well relax and go for the ride, I assure it’s far more enjoyable. When you reach this point you can stop looking where you think I don’t want you to look, as you will not find the answer that you seek. Now I am not suggesting that you will believe it is “real Magic”. What I am suggesting is that we do the dance. I am the entertainer, so it’s my job to lead. I have to earn your trust that you will enjoy the Magic Dance. (and you will.) Joe Ferranti “ The Magician for all Occasions”
